Piedmont’s Taybor Moss – Presented by F&M Bank Piedmont

Taybor Moss’s softball journey began early, growing up surrounded by the sport that would shape her life. With both of her parents being high school softball coaches, Taybor’s love for the game blossomed from an early age. “Ever since I could walk, I have always been in the dugout watching,” she recalls. Now, as a 17-year-old senior at Piedmont High School, she’s carved out her own legacy on the field.

Currently, Taybor serves as the starting catcher and lead-off hitter for her team. She takes this responsibility seriously, aiming to set the tone for the game and guide her team toward success. “I feel like my role is to set the tone for the game and do whatever it takes to help my team win,” she said. Taybor’s pre-game routine includes mental preparation and positive self-talk, always reminding herself to “have fun and breathe.”

This season, her goals are clear and rooted in enjoying her final year with the team. “It’s my last season with these girls, and I want to enjoy it as much as I can,” Taybor explained, adding that defending their state title and achieving a “four-peat” is at the top of her hopes for the season.

On weekends, she makes time for recovery with her family, balancing her training with self-care. Taybor’s family is her greatest influence: “My role models would be my parents. I would not be who I am today without their support and guidance.”

Looking back, Taybor’s highlight from last year was winning the state championship for the third time. And though she has faced personal challenges, like learning to control negative self-talk, she has grown through those experiences, using positivity to calm herself on the field.

Beyond softball, Taybor is excited for her next chapter at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where she plans to major in biology and study to become a physical therapist. Wherever life takes her, one thing is certain: her passion for softball will always remain strong.
